Accessibility Statement
Last revised on: October 29, 2026
TeachReel is for every teacher, including teachers with disabilities. We want everyone to be able to watch our episodes, use our tools and join the community, whether they use a keyboard, a screen reader, captions, magnification or voice control.
Our standard
We build and test TeachReel to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. That standard includes WCAG 2.1 Level AA, which is what the Americans with Disabilities Act rules for schools and districts refer to.
What we do
Every episode has captions, and you can turn them on or off in the player.
Every part of the site works with a keyboard alone. A “Skip to main content” link is the first thing you reach with the Tab key, and every control shows where the keyboard focus is.
We check text and controls for colour contrast, give buttons and form fields clear names for screen readers, and keep the layout usable at 200% zoom and on small screens.
Automated accessibility checks run on every page each time we change the site, and we test new screens by hand with a keyboard and a screen reader.
Known limitations
Recordings that members share in the community don't have automatic captions yet. Each one comes with a written transcript or summary from the member, and we're adding automatic captions.
Episode transcripts and audio description for scenes where the picture carries meaning are in progress.
Some pages and documents we link to are made by other organisations and may not meet the same standard.
Tell us about a problem
If something on TeachReel is hard to use, or you need content in another format, email info@teachreel.com with the page and what happened. We'll reply within 5 business days and work with you to get you what you need.
