About Professor Kent
Dr. Kelly Kent, Ed.D. is the founder of TeachReel® - where new teachers come to feel less alone and more confident managing their classrooms. She created Room 27™ and The Three C's™ (Connect, Collaborate, Control), a research-based classroom-management framework she now shares with new teachers everywhere.
Dr. Kent has spent three decades in classrooms and teacher education, working with teachers from preservice through graduate level university students. She started her career as an elementary teacher in San Diego, then supervising student teachers at The University of San Diego, and most recently teaching undergraduate and graduate courses at Sacred Heart University. Her 2026 doctoral research at Northeastern University examined the gap between what teacher-preparation programs teach and what new teachers actually face in real classrooms. That research became Room 27 and The Three C's - the two anchors of everything she does through TeachReel.
She built TeachReel because new teachers shouldn't have to pay to survive their first years - and because no one should feel alone their first day at the front of the room.
